WHY PERMEABLE PAVERS ARE AN INCREASING TREND IN OUTDOOR DESIGN

As we collectively become more aware of how our actions affect the world around us and the legacy we leave behind, words like "sustainable" and "responsible" continue to gain importance with today's consumers. We still want to enjoy our time here on Earth, though.

Introducing the permeable paver. With the help of permeable pavers, home owners can design attractive, living outdoor areas that enhance the environment and enable us to leave the planet in a better and more beautiful state than when we found it.

The technology is amazingly straightforward. The joints between each paver are filled with smaller aggregate, and permeable pavers are arranged over several layers of crushed stone. With this design, any contaminants are captured before water seeps into the ground and returns to nearby rivers. Water can rapidly drain through the joints and percolate through the layers of aggregate below. The system may be made to collect and reuse rainwater for irrigation and other uses to create the ultimate sustainable patio, driveway, or pathway.

And now for the greatest part... The idea of installing a permeable patio, walkway, or driveway is all the more appealing because in many states and municipalities with water conservation and stormwater management initiatives, there are frequently grants or tax incentives available for installing permeable pavers or a water harvesting system.
