Herringbone: The Classic Paver Pattern

The Herringbone Paver Pattern: Timeless & Modern

Choosing a paver pattern can seem like a daunting task! But here at American Paving Design we know that the right paver pattern paired with a beautiful paver makes for a customizable and stunning hardscape installation! Today we are going to highlight one of our favorite patterns to install, the HERRINGBONE pattern.

When laying the Herringbone pattern you have two typical patterns, 45 degrees and 90 degrees.

90 degree herringbone pattern: This is the more simpler of patterns to lay. Usually after a baseline has been established, you will start the pattern and run it along a main direction at right angles against the the house. If you have a more square or rectangle area using a 90 degree pattern will help keep any additional cuts to a minimum.

45 degree herringbone pattern - Although this pattern is very similar to the 90 degree herringbone pattern, the difference is that it is set at 45 degrees. Another large difference with using this pattern is that you will have more cuts on the edges since they will be set at an angle closest to the house or building.
